OVERVIEW

Modernizing Moundou's power mix

The Moundou Hybrid Solar Plant combines photovoltaic panels with a battery storage system to relieve the city's existing thermal production infrastructure. This clean generation complex pairs technological rigor with operational flexibility.

Developed under an IPP model, ENERSO oversaw the entire lifecycle of the infrastructure, from environmental impact studies to the direct injection of clean electricity into the local grid.

TECHNICAL & LOGISTICAL CHALLENGES

Thermal fluctuation and grid stability

  • Intense thermal fluctuations

Design of active cooling systems and inverter insulation to counter ground temperatures regularly exceeding 45°C.

  • Local grid stability

Integration of a smart SCADA module to smooth the load curve and prevent trips during sudden drops in sunlight.

THE ENERSO RESPONSE

A hybrid architecture with advanced digital control

The implementation of smart single-axis solar trackers maximizes irradiance capture from the earliest hours of the day. Coupling with a smart micro-grid enables real-time arbitration between direct consumption, battery charging and backup power to the local grid.
